Intec was founded in
1986 to provide quality, affordable, competency
based training systems form entry level
employees. INTEC in its start up year
co-sponsored seminars with a national management
labor law firm in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Intec's "Train the Trainer" approach to
management was developed through seminars to
hundreds of small businesses. In addition, INTEC
widened its perspective with training seminars
for local chapters of the IBEW, Laborers
International Union, Operating Engineers as well
as local construction and trade association
chapters.
In 1988 INTEC was named to "sole-source
provider" status by NASA for its Hazard
Communication Training system at the Goddard
Space Flight Center and Wallops Island Flight
Facility. Also in 1988, INTEC began development
of its Hazard Awareness Training (HAT) system.
This monthly subscription provided a
well-conceived, well-documented safety-training
program within the budget and administrative
capabilities of nearly all businesses. In July
of 1989 Intec began distributing the HAT program
nationwide.
By 1991 INTEC had produced its first videotape
and expanded its publication capabilities to
include newsletters, corporate compliance
manuals and various training materials. Intec's
first multimedia computer training program was
completed in 1996. Also in 1996 INTEC directed
their first live satellite broadcast to
automobile dealerships throughout the United
States.
In 1997 Intec expanded its field services to
provided exclusive onsite loss control services
to the Pennsylvania State Workers Insurance
Fund, New York Safety Group 430 and national
corporate accounts. Also in 1997 Intec released
the first version of their OSHA compliance
software distributing it through national trade
associations. In 1998 the software was
redesigned to address the recommendations of
OSHA and the National Business Roundtable.
By the millennium Intec’s focus had expanded to
include the collection, analysis and reporting
of benchmarking and best practice data. Working
with prestigious organizations like the Edison
Electric Institute, Intec has developed a system
to collect, analyze and report occupational
safety and health statistics as well as best
practices.
Best practice models collected for
specific industries are also incorporated into
the products we develop and services we provide.
Partnering with National Trade Associations,
Vendors and Regulatory Agencies our
complementary products currently assist our
clients in record keeping, documentation,
training and product/service acquisition.
Intec continues to work in the field conducting
seminars, audits and developing industrial
training programs. This work helps us in
effectively responding to the changing needs of
the industries we serve. We take pride in
